SMALL CLASSROOM BLOCK
Pillar Consultancy has noted a considerable increase in enquiries for new build and extensions in SCOLA over the last few months, from as far away as Northern Ireland. Recently Pillar Consultancy prepared a sketch scheme for one of the members for a Six-Classroom Block to compete with temporary classroom block solutions, as illustrated. The System can be built very economically by utilising brick outer skins, single storey height, which can be supported on the precast concrete plinth spanning between the column bases, thus saving the cost of foundations to the external skin. A lightweight cladding is used on any further story heights required. Thus all of the benefits of the system can be obtained whilst maintaining the appearance of a very traditionally built building.
