STUDY EXPLORES SECONDARY ISSUES Building Futures, the joint initiative between CABE and the RIBA, has published a new study, 21st Century Schools: learning environments of the future. Undertaken by Ultralab, the project builds upon existing work and seeks to provoke debate about the future of school provision by exploring the impact that changing teaching and learning methods for the 11-18 age range might have on existing school buildings and new learning environments. Four provocative scenarios for learning environments in 2024 are presented, not as predictions so much as provocations aimed at highlighting key issues.
